If you use Gajim in a version lower then 0.16.6 and the OMEMO plugin in version 1.2.3, maybe you notice that Gajim doesn’t sent messages out anymore. Or it is possible you don’t noticed it yet, but wonder why your contact didn’t answer you. Gajim shows only an error, if the debug mode of OMEMO is activated. According to a bug report from yesterday, the problem is related to a 4 days old bug fix, which caused that it is only compatible with Gajim version 0.16.6 and above. I’m not 100% sure if this also affect the Windows version, but since they raise the minimal version in the Code, I think so.

So, if you have this problem, you should update Gajim. On the Gajim download page you find instructions how you can add the repository from Gajim and install the newest version. If you use Ubuntu (>=17.04) or Debian (>=9), you can install the package gajim-omemo from the default repositories. This plugin version will always work with the distribution shipped Gajim version.

We will insert a note about this in our Gajim manual.
